The Howey Mansion Grand Opening Gala

Hey there L&L followers!

I am so excited to get this blog post out about The Howey Mansion Gala (better late than never). We were so thrilled to be asked by The Howey Mansion staff to provide the arrangements for the event, and we think they turned out great! As always it's so wonderful to work with an AMAZING team of vendors for events like this. Check out the end of the blog post for our vendor shout outs.

First, lets talk about the mansion!

We are so happy to have developed a great relationship with The Howey Mansion staff, and since we are a local Howey-in-the-Hills company we are happy to be able to offer our Howey Mansion couples BIG discounts on their wedding florals. The mansion is one of the most unique venues in Central Florida, it has a distinct time period vibe mixed with a little Mediterranean flair. In addition to being a wedding and event venue, historic tours are offered on various days of the week so you can visit and learn about this piece of Florida history!

Make sure to check out their website listed at the end of the blog post to purchase tour tickets.

This event was a much anticipated one by all in the Central Florida Wedding Industry, and many Howey-in-the-Hills/ Lake County locals as well. A year ago this amazing piece of Florida history was abandoned and boarded up. The Grand Opening Gala was definitely a celebration of the new life that has been breathed into this gorgeous property due to the great work of the Cowherds, and the teams they put together. Not only was this a way to allow the community to see the beautifully restored property, but all proceeds were offered in support of a wonderful charity Love Made Visible. You can learn more about this awesome charity and make donations to this wonderful cause by clicking the link below.

Coordinating the vision of the event was Blush by Brandee Gaar's very own Brandee Gaar, with wonderful assists from the Blush/ Howey Mansion team. Pulling from the mansions history and Mr. Howey's citrus empire, the team really wanted to tie that into the event theme. L&L owner Stephanie was very excited about the inspiration photos, and decided to do a mix of tall and short arrangements featuring orange blooms and citrus fruits for the tented dinner reception. The variation in arrangement height created dimension within the tent, and the beautiful unique linens added visual interest to the space. The cocktail tables throughout the ballroom and on the courtyard terrace were decorated with smaller matching arrangements, to tie into the theme.

Another awesome partnership came about as we worked on this event. We were lucky to work with Ocean Hawks Rentals and provide floral arrangements for their prohibition themed sponsored whisky tasting in Mr. Howey's secret cellar. They created a custom bar, and decorated the space beautifully. It was really as if you stepped back in time. Ocean Hawks provided the various containers for these arrangements, and furniture for other seating areas throughout the mansion. Definitely check them out for some beautiful unique pieces.

Another HUGE thank you to all of our vendor partners on this event! Especially Sivan Photography for the incredible images featured above! Please check out these wonderful vendors for your wedding or event.
